Useful Downloads
On this page you will find links to several useful programs that Tranquility recommends for private use. Most of these programs are free for individual use to protect against viruses and other malicious software. Tranquility will provide limited support for most of these programs, however none of these products are liscenced by Tranquility Internet and use of these products is at your own risk.
Virus Software
AVG Free – AVG Free is an anti-virus program that is free for individual use. It is fully functional and works better than most subscription based programs.
Housecall – Housecall is an online scanner from Trendmicro. It is free to use and usefull if you have a virus preventing you from installing AVG Free.
Kaspersky – Kaspersky is a downloadable virus program. While not free it is one of the better ones out there.
Spyware Software
Spybot S & D – Spybot Search and Destory is a free spyware removal program. Spyware is software that tracks and generates ads within your computer.
Ad-Aware – Ad-Aware is similar to Spybot, but with an emphasis on ad based spyware. It is free for use or has a subsription based package.
Spyware Blaster – Spyware Blaster is also a free spyware removal program.
Browser Software
Internet Explorer – Latest version of Microsoft’s web-browser software.
Mozilla Firefox – Free web-browser that allows user custimization as well as improved security compared to Internet Explorer.
Opera – Another free web-browser similar to Firefox, but with a slightly different interface.
Chrome – Yet another free web-browser provided by Google
Email Clients
Mozilla Thunderbird – Thunderbird is part of the Mozilla software development. It has powerfull junk mail controls and is free to use.
Windows Updates
Windows Updates – Microsoft offers many updates beyond the priority one released with the automatic updates. This link takes you to Microsoft’s website for updates for everything from Office to sound cards. This must be opened in Interet Explorer.
FTP Program
Filezilla – FileZilla is free FTP program that allows you to update files in your hosting account.
WinSCP – WinSCP is another free SFTP/FTP program that allow s you to manage files in your hosting account.
